Custom bench / varmint rifle .17rem cal. I'll post most of the important info, please ask specifics that I didn't cover. This is a 100% custom built rifle by two regionally well known gun builders and bench rest shooters in NJ, one of whom is a machinist. The stock is a beautiful Cherry (i think) thumbhole with ebony spacers and walnut caps. It's benchrest style with a large flat beavertail fore end. Stainless barrel is Lilja and measures at about 24- 3/4" with a target crown. The action is a 700 S/A stainless which has been blueprinted and trued, lugs lapped and serial number engraved in the bolt knob. Jewel trigger, Leupold 30mm base/rings. The action is like glass, definitely night and day compared to a stock Rem action, glass bedded, but I have not separate the action from the stock to see if it's pillar bedded or not. I suspect it is based on the meticulous build quality of this rifle. I have a scope for it that's never been mounted, Leupold Vari-X III 8.5-25x50mm with a 30mm tube and side focus and it has the Varmint range finding reticle, retail is $1375. Interested in interesting trades such as Sako, Weatherby, vintage Marlin lever actions, possibly a Springfield M1A, Winchester 42 (.410), Winchester 71 .348, Winchester 43 in either 25-20 or 32-20. Nice S&W revolvers especially model 57, Russian SVD Tiger or possibly an NDM 86 rifle, Remington 11-48 in .410 or 28g, possibly savage 99 or anything else vintage or interesting just let me know what you have. This is not an an entry level item, you want to show off a gun to your buddies at the range, here it is. I am a gunsmith and know how much it costs to have something like this built to order and I know the machinist who built it who told me the cost. I feel it has a fair value of $3000 w/ the scope or $2000 without. I will not sell just the scope.
