I had my gunsmith put a new, 29" hunting weight barrel on the rifle. Receiver by DWM,Berlin. I mounted it in the Advance Technologies stock. The barrel is free floated. I am no gunsmith so the job is not fancy. The 3 to 9 power scope, which I am letting go with the rifle needs to be replaced if you want a quality hunting scope. As it is, it shoots 1" groups with 175gr and 150gr bullets, as I range tested it only. My nephew, for whom I built the rifle, will not be able to go hunting with me and I am offering the rifle for way less than I have invested. It will be deadly on any game animal in N. America, with the classic 7x57mm Mauser chambering. The trigger has a smooth let off and needs no work. The label on the stock reports one twist in 8.5 inches. This rifle will shoot great groups, just as it is. If you like a short barrel you may want to have the barrel cut and re crowned but I like it long. Please ask all your questions before buying. More photos and details upon request.
