The SKS is a Soviet semi-automatic rifle chambered for the 7.62x39mm round, designed in 1943 by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov. Self-loading Carbine of (the) Simonov system, 1945), or SKS 45. This one was produced in China, where it was designated the "Type 56" This rifle is accurate up to 500 yards and has never shot a round. It has been kept in a safe with pristine conditions and taken out only to clean. There are no defects and it is ready to be used!
