Additional information

This is an original early 1861 Colt Conversion. In order to get this out the door the barrel was not stamped The cylinder is 38 Center Fire and the barrel has good rifling left. Usual dark bore with little to no pitting. The barrel address is one line NY address and clear. Colts Patent on left side of frame. Nice patina on brass with no silver showing. The grips are shrunken a little from age but tight to the revolver with a light remnant of the cartouche on the left side. No large chips missing on grips but some small dings from wear. Some varnish still remaining. Mechanics have been professionally timed and head space set up perfectly. You can shoot this with 38 Special or 38long colt or short colt. Serial number is 7787 on everything but barrel which was unmarked. This happened usually when a Colt employee would smuggle parts out in their lunch boxes. This is a very nice early 1861 Navy conversion done some where during or after the Civil War. Will consider a trade.
