Restoration included a full metal polish, remarking of all the original stamping and roll marks, black army finish, and new grips. The “black army” finish was the term used to refer to the dark appearance of the charcoal blue finish that Colt used on pistols made during and immediately after WWI (mid-1917 to mid-1918). This was due to Colt eliminating the final polishing step to increase production. All of our restorations are done faithfully and accurately to the highest standards by our craftsman.
