Here is a Colt .25 Auto Hammerless, 1908 Vest Pocket model. It has spent a little-used, but much-carried career exactly where its model designation intended – in someone’s vest pocket. This pistol appears to have been professionally reblued, quite possibly at Colt, some time after World War II. The lettering is sharp throughout. Surface detractions amount to a series of small but visible pecks on the left side of the slide; light whitening on the end of the muzzle and sharp places on the left side of the slide; faint overblued light pitting on the lower left muzzle area of the slide; overblued light scratching on the right side muzzle area of slide and left rear right side of the frame. We detect also eight or ten tiny pecks on the slide’s top, many of which are overblued. We consider this Colt .25 to be Very Good finishwise, but photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. This pistol is Excellent mechanically. Everything works like it’s supposed to, and the bore and chamber are clean and excellent. Actually, this pistol is quite nice since its surfaces are bright and well blued, and since the Jay Scott replacement grips have a nice yellowish toning developed since their manufacture some 40 years ago. Serial number is 2778xx, manufactured in 1920. Own this fine little Colt for only $ 439.95
