Springfield 1878 Trapdoor rifle

This trapdoor, s/n: 233578 is in very good condition. The bore is bright, the best I've seen, the stock, cleaning rod and sights all appear correct. It is a two-band gun with sling/stacking swivels. It has a black/brown patina to the metal and the wood is excellent with the exception of a split at the top/right hand edge, in front of the side plate(see picture). This was repaired with three fine pins. There is no evident cartouche on the stock. There is still some case-color on the bottom of the trapdoor.
