If you are a casual deer hunter who wants to hunt "in style" with something unique and one of a kind while being the best rifle for the job (and the most fun to use). Or, instead, if you are serious deer hunter, then the following will be of great interest....an opportunity to own, with very high probability, the best deer hunting rifle available worldwide. "Best" meaning, in addition to the obvious....a rifle custom made by a gunsmith in Germany who was commissioned to make this unique and, only one made, rifle for game hunting for this one individual who has achieved fame in science, math and physics.
This rifle is custom made on a German Commission Model 88. The caliber is 7.9x57JS...the original versions were J with a bore diameter of 0.318, where as the bore diameter for this JS version is 0.323. This caliber today is known as the 8mm and can be safely fired in guns cambered for the JS version. This rifle is a custom rifle and has been completely reworked and rebarreled. The original bolt handle has been replaced with what is known as a spoon handle. The rifle has two triggers. This rifle has been completely restocked, checkered and embellished with German silver. The metal work has been engraved and lower metal and bolt color case hardened. This rifle is equipped with offset German claw bases for a scope. The rifle takes a German Commission Model 88 clip. Judging by the engraving, this rifle was probably made by a German Gunsmith for Dr. Robert Schrader who is, or was, Professor of Physics at the University of Berlin in Berlin. Gottingen is a small town nearby. This rifle is a one of a kind and, more than likely, is the only one of it's kind in the world. Do this, if you need to investigate:

Mebane, NC and, ask for George. He is the owner and has done some work on this rifle and has done considerable research regarding it's orgin and history.
Or, if you are a serious "collector", then this is such a unique item that you will want to show your friend a custom made big game rifle configured like this, and, made for the Professor of Physics at the Univ. of Berlin. The proof is engraved on this rifle which has lots of German silver.
