WINCHESTER M12 12 GAUGE SKEET MANUFACTURED IN 1938. Pofessionally custom upgraded/embellished with extensive engraving and gold inlays. Dual bead sights on a solid rib with matte top surface. The 26 inch barrel is marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-[three line Winchester trademark]-MODEL 12-12 GA." over "WS-1 / U.S.A. PAT. PENDING" on the left side and the two line address/patent dates marking on the right. The receiver features a factory style pattern of engraving, furthered enhanced with seven gold inlays (Four gold ducks in flight on right side of receiver; two gold bird dogs and one flushed gold quail on left side of receiver) and field scenes. Wedges of scrollwork are engraved on both sides of the barrel at the breech and on the receiver ring, with a standing pigeon on the underside (the pigeon is believed to be the signature of the engraver as it is seen on similar shotgun engravings and gold work). The trigger guard is engraved with scrollwork. The underside of the receiver is marked "SKEET". The bolt and follower are jeweled and a large checkered head safety has been installed. The shotgun features beautifully colored and figured custom checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock. The buttstock has a Winchester grip cap and buttplate. LOP = 14 ½". OAL = 45 ½”.

Condition is “near mint” as professionally embellished, with almost all of the blue finish remaining with some mild slide wear. The wood is near mint with only the slightest of handling marks. Mechanically excellent. SN 761677 ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AVAILABLE.
