Original Sharps & Hankins cavalry carbine. The .52 Cal. Barrel is 19 inches long and it has a saddle ring for mounted use. The metal & wood are in very good condition with the usual marks for a 150 year old gun. It has a good patina on all the metal parts. This gun was available early in the war and was one of the first rim fire cartridge guns made. The rear sight is a reproduction and the front sight is missing. The bore is dark but might clean up if worked on. This would be a unique piece for reenacting cavalry or just to own. You would have a 3 day inspection period.
