I have had this in the safe for years. This is a preban high capacity tube Marlin 883SS bolt action rifle. Rifle is stainless steel with a laminate stock for all weather use. This rifle is extremly well built and hard to find. I bought it, cleaned it, has been sitting in the safe ever since. Was factory test fired but bought it new. I would consider an AK 47 as a trade. These were made from 1993-2003 and I have one of the early ones before Clinton banned high cap mags. Has the 12 shot tube which is good for a magnum bolt action. If your a good shot this might be the only rifle you ever need. This is the most solid .22 I have ever handled. Will last several life times. I have a nice leather military sling on it right now. I paid 40 bucks for the sling. I have the box and manual somewhere.
This was the first stainless bolt action rifle with the Marlin name on it. The barrel and receiver are made with 400 Series stainless steel. In addition, the striker knob, trigger stud, and outer magazine tube are also made from low maintenance stainless steel. Most other parts are nickel-plated.
The handsome Monte Carlo two-tone brown laminated stock is equipped with swivel studs and a rubber rifle butt pad. The rear sight is an adjustable folding semi-buckhorn, and the ramp front sight has a high visibility post and cutaway Wide-Scan™ hood. The 883SS has a 22" barrel, featuring famous Micro-Groove® rifling, and a tubular magazine with a big 12-shot capacity.
