It allows for much more malfunction-free shooting and a lot less cleaning time. For those uninitiated into the world of the AR platform, a gas-impingement gun (standard AR's) can run (hopefully) for about 700 - 750 rounds before demanding to be cleaned because of malfunctions. Piston-driven systems (like this gun) can run in excess of 20,000 rounds before needing to be cleaned. I personally would not do that (I like clean guns!) but in a worst-case-scenario it could be done. This rifle has a one-in-eight twist and is extremely accurate. It could be purchased with the Trijicon Reflex sight that it is shown with for an additional three hundred dollars. Better get it while you can!
