This is an exciting opportunity for a Fox enthusiast or any collector/shooter that wants to own and shoot a TRULY RARE, LEGENDARY GUN. Michael McIntosh writes extensively about the Super Fox in his book "A.H. Fox ""the Finest Gun in the World"", including the small bore, 20 gauge Super. This gun, sn202124 is listed as the 3rd one shipped in 1924. Only 60 were ever made! The Super Fox was a collaboration of several of the best shotgunners in the country, primary of which was the best barrel man ever known, Burt Becker, in conjunction with John Olin who had just finished development of the Super X brand of long range shotgun shells with heavy charges of lead and powder. Super Fox guns were all either built by Becker himself or under his direct supervision. You can bet he had his hands on the 3rd small bore ever made! Special attention was paid to the chambers, forcing cones, overbored barrels, and choke cones and restrictions to create a gun that would place 80% of its payload in a 30" circle at 40 yards. That is a true feat never again duplicated. This gun has been fully restored by Doug Turnbull Restorations in 2010. It is as new inside and out...perfect! The factory letter documents the gun has not been altered since leaving the factory except the addition of a butt pad to extend LOP. The wood was not cut, bores are overbored at .626 diameter, chokes are extra full at 34 thou restriction, chambers measure 2 5/8" on my gauge. In the past 15 years of chasing fine Fox shotguns, this is the second Super Fox 20 bore I have seen offered for sale. There cannot be 50 of them left on the planet, with few having made it this long without serious changes to the gun. Rarity, desirability, and restored to perfection by the country's best restoration artist, this is a fine investment quality shotgun that will always be the Holy Grail of Fox collectors and shooters.
