Description:
This is an excellent condition used Astra Model 600/43 military pistol in 9 mm Parabellum (Luger) caliber. The serial numbers on the slide, frame, and one magazine are all matching. No Spanish crest, no import mark.
It was part of the second production contract that was manufactured and paid for by Nazi Germany but they never actually took possession. Only the first 10,500 (give-or-take a few) were delivered to the Nazis. Apparently, the second production contract were manufactured 1 in Spain by Astra but the war ended before the Nazi’s could take possession of them. They were then stored in an armory warehouse and eventually sold once again to Germany, but this time to the West German government for police use. These pistols were used by West German police forces until the mid-to-late 1950s. This particular pistol was manufactured, according to the stampings/hallmarks on the pistol, in 1945 before the war ended.
The overall finish on the pistol is excellent. The pistol is in great condition considering the age and history of this weapon. It comes with an original issue leather holster and 2 magazines (one of the magazines is serial numbered to the gun, the other one is not). The holster has some minor scuffs, scratches, and ever so light drying out, but the belt loops and all stitching are intact and in perfect condition. The bluing on the weapon itself shows some light wear from where the leather rubbed against it. The bore is really decent, and all the metal is in great overall condition for a WWII era weapon. Be sure to look at all the photos. The original checkered grips are in really nice condition with no cracks or chips...just some normal wear from holstering.
This gun functions, fires, feeds, and is remarkably accurate. All in all it is in what I consider to be excellent condition, especially for being at least 70 years old, and to be able to hold, shoot, and admire something that is history held in one's hands is almost an indescribable feeling. Also included will be a spare recoil and firing pin spring that I acquired over the years.
All firearms laws must be followed, and it must ship to your FFL dealer for lawful transfer to the new owner...this is C&R eligible, so it can be shipped directly to a C & R holder.
