Description     Shipping and payments     Additional information
Here is an interesting Model 1863 Type II musket. The rifle is in good + condition with some minor pitting. The stock shows smooth wear and has had a repair just behind the lock. (see pictures). Lock marked 1864. The sight is missing its sight leaf. What makes this rifle special is the carved insignia in the stock. The cross that has been carved is the insignia of the 6th Army Corps part of the Army of the Potomac. This regiment was involved in almost all of the important battles in the Eastern Theater, from the battles of Manannas, Fredericksburg, the Wilderness and Lee’s surrender at Appomattox Court House. Great addition to anyone’s Civil War collection with this historical connection. More Pictures Upon Request.
