Description:
We are offering a vintage Postal Meter M1 Carbine chambered in .30M1 caliber. This is a very early production gun being made in the year 1943.
18” barrel is very good and marked “SA 11 51”. Muzzle is very good. Bore is clean and bright with strong rifling. Front fixed sight is marked “SA”. Action is very good, reading “National Postal Meter #1454XXX”. Rear sight is missing; slot shows moderate wear. Bolt action works well, although the pin to catch it is worn and so the chamber does not always stay open when the bolt is cocked back. I am unsure if stock is original to the gun; front wooden fore-end has been replaced with a heat shield. No apparent import marks.
Gun comes with what appears to be a 5rd, 7rd and 10rd magazine
