Winchester Model 88 (pre 64)Rifle in 308 caliber. Introduced in 1955 for the then new .308 Winchester cartridge, the hammerless Winchester Model 88 was entirely different and technically more advanced than any previous Winchester lever action rifle. I would estimate the condition at NRA 90%. The stock, and forearm shows handling usage. On the bottom of the stock there are some dents just forward of the rear sling swivel. The stock has been shortened, and a butt pad affixed. The buttpad has not been trimmed to fit the stock, slightly oversize. There is some pitting at the barrel end around the front sight.
