This is the popular lever action Finnwolf in 243 Win., and is in original condition with safe and handling marks. This is a one-owner gun, purchased at the post PX in Germany in 1963, along with it's brother, a .308 W. version. I still have the original purchase receipt. This beauty has had very little use, estimating less than 40 rounds fired. I dismantled it and cleaned it thoroughly, including the chamber and throat. It came into the shop here because the breech bolt would not close on a cartridge, which turned out to be due to buildup of powder residue in the chamber throat (lever guns are difficult to clean the chamber). In the process of putting the gun back together, I (stupid) drove a pin into the hammer and broke it, and knowing that it would take some doing to fix it, I made my friend an offer and bought it from him. I then discovered that there are no parts market nor gunsmiths who work on this rifle, so I had a new hammer made here in town by a gunsmith/machinist genius I do business with. I also reconditioned the firing pin by putting a new contact tip on it. (This gun does not like to be dry-fired, which Sako found out, and the firing pin had bent, because the original owner loaned the gun to his friend and the rest is history) Suffice to say, I am now one of only a couple of shops in the USA who can service this rifle! You can keep my name and number, should you ever need me. The problem is the lever mechanism ...it is a challenge to put back together once taken down.
