Original WWII Remington Rand M 1911 A1 U.S. Army. Serial No. 10249XX. This is a 1943 45 ACP manufactured in Remington's Syracuse NY factory. The markings are all here, UNITED STATES PROPERTY, FJA stamp (Lt. Col. Frank J. Atwood), crossed cannon and cartouche. I acquired the gun, in 1976, from the family of the soldier who carried it in WWII. As I understand it, it saw quite a bit of action. The gun is in very good condition. The blue is good with some silvering around the muzzle and high points. the grips are wood with a diamond cut checkering that has a 1/2 scratch on the lower part of the left grip. Let your imagination tell you how it happened and where. My guess is the battle of the bulge on a rock. The holster is US Army issue and looks like it should after 64 years. I have never cleaned or fired this weapon.
I will be happy to take more photographs for a serious purchaser.
