Springfield Model 1868 Trapdoor Rifle 50-70 cal Bore Exc, Mech Exc, Wood VG plus with strong coutours and arsenal markings., Has a 32 ½” Rd barrel with orig. Sights, barrel bands, sling swivels and ramrod. Metal overall has a smooth unpitted finish, and has a blue grey patina finish Serial#23426 matching. The Bolt is marked 1869 over US and the eagle head and crossed arrows markings. The lockplate is excellent with 1863 date, eagle and US Springfield markings. The buttplate has the US marking .
