WHITNEY 1841 (1848 ON LOCK) RIFLED PERCUSSION MUSKET.

US OVER JCB WITH VP OVER EAGLE HEAD ON BARREL.

MISSING SLING SWIVELS. NO CRACKS ANYWHERE ON THE WOOD.

ALL ORIGINAL.

IT APPEARS THAT COLT MAY NOT HAVE CONVERTED THIS MUSKET, AS THE PIECE STILL HAS THE BRASS TIP REMAINS ON THE RAMROD AND THE ADDITIONAL INSPECTOR CARTOUCHE DOES NOT SHOW ON THE BUTT. THE SMALL FIXED REAR SIGHT HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED BY THE NEWER FOLDING LEAF REAR SIGHT.

i HAVE YET TO COMPLETE THE CLEANING OF THIS ONE, SO THE PHOTOS MAY APPEAR UNDER STATING.
