Description: I am selling my late father's gun collection. I am NOT an expert, so please take that into consideration.

This black powder muzzleloader appears to be in very good condition. I am not sure when Pedersoli stopped making these. This one was imported by Replica Arms of Marietta, Ohio who are no longer in business. This one has some really beautiful details. I have more photos and can e-mail them to anyone who is interested.

If you have any questions, please let me know, I will do my best to answer.

Here is a quote about this gun I got off of the internet... "Pedersoli, Plainsman .45 caliber flintlock rifle. The Pedersoli Company renowned for its quality replica firearms has, over the years, has discontinued very few of their reproduction firearms. Regrettably, the Plainsman model falls into the discontinued classification. The Plainsman model was available from the Pedersoli Company at a time when the true Pennsylvania longrifle recreation was still on the planning boards. The Plainsman’s thirty-seven inch barrel far exceeded the somewhat clubby Connecticut Valley Arms Kentucky rifle (at the time its closest contender in the longrifle class), in length and balance, not to mention the quality, and style. The balance point of the Plainsman rifle centers on the exact spot where your left hand would be placed on the forearm. In addition to the perfect balance, are the sculptured lines that give the rifle an almost Royal appearance, duplicating some of the fine 19th Century firearms of Europe. To compliment the long slender .45 caliber barrel the rib, and in addition, the thimbles are brass. The additional furniture of the rifle is brass as well. The Buckele flintlock ignition mounts to the stock with a brightly polished steel lockplate complimenting the Walnut stock and brass mountings. The very first Pedersoli Plainsmen rifles were cut to the unusual caliber of .38. Only the later models of the Plainsman were in .45 caliber. In addition only the final few years of production saw the Plainsman offered in flintlock."
