The Sig 1911 SME reflects decades of refinement to Browning's original design while still remaining true to the original pattern. Sig's version features a rugged stainless steel barrel and classic-pattern natural stainless slide and frame. The slide sports both front and rear cocking serrations, and the thumb safety is ambidextrous. Machined to fine tolerances, the slide and frame are hand fitted to ensure accuracy and reliability (lockup is tight!). Internally, the gun is classic 1911, complete with barrel bushing, standard recoil plug, and traditional length recoil spring guide. Premium internal parts, including a match grade target-crowned barrel and hammer / sear / trigger set, and the externally mounted extractor are part of the factory performance package on this gun. The straight mainspring housing, skeletonized trigger and Commander hammer, grip safety speed bump, widened ejection port, and classic double-diamond checkered Hogue wood grips guarantee smooth handling. The two (2) single stack 10-rd magazines have stainless bodies, metal followers and cushioned floor plates.
