The original production run of the Colt Mustange Pocketlite in Nickel & Stainless extended only from 1991 until 1996. Sig Arms resurrected a close clone, but the Sig competitor is, well, a fat boy something on the order of our photographer. The Sig 232’s slide was never finished anything like the Colt; it was square and boxy. Here, after a 16 year hiatus, is the classic Colt Mustang Pocketlite, product code O6891. Type is single action only compact pistol, descendant of John M. Browning’s 1911. Safety system consists of a left side safety lever that will engage with the hammer down, and with the hammer back, cocked and locked. Construction is lightweight alloy frame with stainless steel slide, barrel, hammer, and internal parts. Barrel length is 2 3/4 inches; slide thickness .762 inches; grip screw thickness 1.07 at the top screw; overall length 5 1/2 inches from the muzzle to the end of the grip frame strut; height 3 7/8 inches from the grip frame butt to the top of the anodized dovetailed black notch rear sight. Finish is classic streaked stainless slide sides, and matte verticals, with coated nickel alloy frame. Trigger is black anodized serrated face.
