Less than 2 mags have been fired thru her. Upper receiver, BCG, gas plug, and charging handle are all coated in POF proprietary np3 finish which is super slick, resulting in very little wear to moving parts, excellent lubrication qualities for use with or without gun oil, and can be cleaned with the wipe of a rag, no solvents needed. Best finish in the industry! Upper features a factory removable 4 prong flash hider, POF proprietary monolithic quad rail w/ included sling mount, and piston system which keeps the upper running much cleaner and cooler than standard low-end direct impingement ARs. These are the highest quality, most reliable, and most accurate AR uppers on the planet and very rare with the 7.25" barrel. • Why doesn’t POF offer chrome lined barrels?
All of our barrels are Case Harden Nitrate Heat-Treated to 70 RC. The steel case is softer than our chambers. Our case hardened barrels shoot consistently better groups on all of our weapon systems then chrome lined barrels. Our barrels are easier to clean and don’t copper foul like chrome lined barrels. Our case hardened nitrate heat treated barrels are 10x’s thicker in the hardness area of the barrel (case hardness .005” thk., chrome lined .0005” thk.). Chrome lining can delaminate (peel away from barrel surface) from heat, and the chrome lining doesn’t plate evenly on the entire surface of the bore and grooves.
• What is the normal-use barrel life of the POF barrels?
