Crimson Trace is at the forefront of laser design, so it comes as no surprise that they work hand-in-hand with gun manufacturers. Case in point – when Remington announced their new R51 sub-compact pistol, Crimson Trace already had a laser sight for it. It may not be a marriage made in heaven, but it was made in the USA, and it’s a perfect match. The new Crimson Trace LG-494 mounts on the front of the R51 trigger guard and looks like part of the gun. Lasers that are hung on picatinny rails tend to look like an afterthought. Trigger guard lasers blend in with the shape of the gun and look like they belong. The LG 494 is no exception. The CT trigger guard laser sight includes an extension that covers the lower part of the trigger guard and incorporates a pressure switch which falls naturally beneath the shooter’s fingers when gripping the weapon. Grip the gun to fire and the laser comes on from the pressure of your fingers. You don’t have to even think about it.

Crimson Trace7The only problem is that with the trigger guard laser installed, the gun no longer fits the holster. CT thought of that too. The Model LG-49H comes complete with a holster custom designed to fit the laser equipped gun. Laser sights, especially when they come on when needed without having to search for a switch, dramatically improve your effectiveness and accuracy with a handgun. Check out the newest addition to the Crimson Trace extensive family of laser sights.

Having 4 of your products and just acquiring a Rem R51 I was excited to order one for it.. All my other ones are green lasers and as you know red does not show up outdoors very well…Is there any chance CT will be making a green one in the near future ?? I hope so !!!

How come they don’t have the new Remington R51 sight on their website? And where is the price?
What a pathetic product roll out…

Most of the industry is in show season right now so sometimes the website stuff gets behind. It is a mistake to consider a big brand a big company our entire industry is made up of mostly small companies with extremely limited resources.

Crimson Trace will never get my business until they configure an integrated laser system for any of my three(3) H&K’s. Two .40cal. P30’s, and one(1) .40cal. USP Compact. Their rail-mounted generic laser hangs up on my holsters. (A friend has their rail-mount unit on one of his H&K P30’s, and I tested it in all of my holsters.) When they offer superior products for superior handguns, I’d be the first in line.

As far as CT and H&K handguns- We tried for a good while to get a CT laser grip set made to fit the P7-M8/M10 pistols. No luck. The basic reason, not enough customers for them to care, and a now discontinued pistol. We had just as much luck trying to get ANYONE to make Tritium sight sets to fit that platform without modification.

I guess it’s another reason to only use a throwaway cheap pistol for concealed carry? They sell enough of those so some mfg. will make accessories…
