Smith & Wesson Military Rebate Program – Active Duty, Retired, Injured All Qualify

Current Events

We don’t usually do stories on press releases in the GunsAmerica Blog but this one is just so different than most that we felt we have to post it. Smith & Wesson has created a special rebate program for retired, injured and active duty military personnel. The details of the program are at www.smith-wesson.com/nationsfinest .

The Nation’s Finest program is just one of the many ways that the Company is showing its appreciation toward members of the United States Armed Forces community who actively participate in the shooting sports.

From now to December 31, 2011, any current active duty, retired or disabled member of the U.S. Armed Forces or Reserves is eligible to receive a rebate with the purchase of any qualifying Smith & Wesson firearm*. The Nation’s Finest program offers eligible military personnel and disabled veterans a $100 mail-in rebate for the purchase of a qualifying M&P15 rifle, and a $50 mail-in rebate for the purchase of a qualifying M&P pistol or Smith & Wesson revolver. Please visit www.smith-wesson.com/nationsfinest for complete details on the Nation’s Finest program and to learn more about qualifying Smith & Wesson products. The incentive program is limited to the purchase of one model per firearm category.

“It is with a great sense of pride and deep appreciation that we have expanded the Nation’s Finest program in order to give something back to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Services,” said James Debney, President of Firearms for Smith & Wesson. “These true patriots have selflessly and valiantly devoted their lives to the preservation of the United States and, in turn, we have pledged our support to them. While we can never thank them enough for their services or the hardships they have endured, we hope this program will help them enjoy the shooting sports both on a professional and recreational level.”

Smith & Wesson’s Nation’s Finest program is available to all active duty U.S. Military, Retired Military with retired Military Status, active National Guard Reservists and Disabled Veterans of all U.S. Military branches, including the U.S. Coast Guard. Customers wishing to take advantage of this offer should visit the Smith & Wesson website at www.smith-wesson.com/nationsfinest for redemption coupons and complete details.

*All M&P15 Sport rifles, M&P15-22 rifles, M&P22 pistols, and all used firearms are excluded from the Nation’s Finest program.

If there is a question as to being a Disabled Veteran and not being Retired from one Branch or another, you would not have a Military ID card, then why wouldn’t your Department of Veterans Affairs ID card be sufficent? All Disabled Veterans are issued this card inorder to recieve benifits at any and all medical facilities, civilian and military and of course the nearest VA facility. What about Military Dependents they are issued a Military ID card, until discharge. And upon Military Members Retirement the affected Dependents are issued a Military ID.

I have a Veterans Administration # (you do not get my direct deposit info) and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans #. You have no Provision for these # ‘s on your form. These provide disabled requirement where as a DD 214 shows proof of service and Discharge Cert shows how one served.

I am a “Disabled American Veteran” who has served Honorably in the United States Army (1966-1968)!

Tony has a great point. Being disabled usually means you are no longer in the service and maybe not retired. So there is no I/D involved. The DD-214 will show the Purple Heart award. The most you might have is a VA Claim Number. The website doesn’t seem to allow for this. Seems to be a great program but S&W might need to clarify on this point.

“This offer is available to ALL active duty U.S. Military, Retired Military with retired Military Status, active National Guard Reservists and Disabled Veterans of all U.S. Military branches including U.S. Coast Guard. Customers wishing to take advantage of this offer are required to submit the following documentation: 1). the redemption coupon, 2). a copy of sales receipt and 3). a copy of the front side of your Military ID card (active or retired) or, a copy of a Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) or, a copy of your Military Orders. Please note; if submitting LES or Military Orders please attach a copy of your driver’s license.”

I am very to see someone finally give us retired persons a little credit. I do have a question though. As a retiree I no longer receive and LES nor do I have orders. I am retired and have a retiree military ID card. Please advise.
