The basic shotgun mechanism is a Sears / Ted Williams model 300, 12 gauge gas operated semi-auto, manufactured about 1966 from its low, 19000 range serial number. The Star of this show is the Model 1400 barrel, 2 3/4 inch chamber, 30 inch Ventilated Rib with Full Choke whose muzzle mikes at .691. Barrel shows contact scouring around the muzzle, but still ought to rate Very Good, about 80 percent, on our estimate. Photos ought to suffice for shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves on all these parts. The mechanism appears operable, and functions like it is supposed to, except that the shell carrier wants to lodge itself above the magazine follower. Our inspection does not, and will not, include test firing. We are selling this shotgun for its parts, principally its 30 inch full choke .691 Muzzle Diameter Barrel. Receiver is only Good, with extensive scouring and whitening. Walnut Forend has perhaps 50 percent of its original glossy finish remaining, but no cracks that we can see. Buttstock is a bit better, still not quite Very Good, and note the 2 inch hairline crack on the left center side of the pistol grip area directly behind the receiver. That crack does not indicate any separation. Buttstock length of pull measures 13 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the original Ted Williams marked recoil pad.
