Description: Collector quality. We know by the original markings that this one saw combat during WWII! All Springfield made at the National Armory in Mass. with serial number 2256193 documented as 1943 and having the original Springfield barrel dated 5-43. Correct Lock Bar rear sight and unmodified op rod. Cartouche with SA over the inspector's initial R. Showing the original "P" in the circle, Proof mark in the wood of the grip. The US military was still very short of US M1 Rifles in 1943 and Springfield was on 3 shifts per day, 7 days a week. Every rifle coming off the line went into the hands of an American warrior and into combat. Correct walnut stocks. Test fired. With my 75 year old eyes, I shot 1 1/2 groups at 50 yards. I warranty this rifle to shoot under 4" at 100 yards. If you want the real thing, that was "there" and not a sissy rifle that did not go anywhere, then get this one. I can begin a layaway for you. More photos and details upon request. All questions will be answered promptly. Will be shipped in a new, airline qualified hard case with enbloc clip for loading and an instruction manual.
