Mechanics are in good working order, with all four clicks and reasonable lock up for shooting. The bore is corroded near the breech but good the remaining 75% forward with strong rifling and only minor frosting. The Single Action has about 80% non-factory engraving coverage and has been nickeled. Wear is consistent with this engraving having been done a long time ago, and you can see where the non-factory nickel finish is missing in spots. The engraving is very good quality and is done in mainly in the Cuno A. Helfricht style (engraver whose shop did contract work for Colt from 1891 to 1921). The initials “TF” appear on the underside of the frame. The two-piece ivory grips are well fitted to this gun, but have also seen some use. The right grip is chipped at the toe and appears to be mended along the back strap. The gun is cased in a vintage “French” style hinged box with a carton of cartridges (replica – empty). If you are not aware, when you click on an individual picture, there are forward and back arrows in the upper left corner. If you click the icon between the arrows, you will get a great enlargement. We suggest viewing pictures on a full-size computer to take advantage of this feature.
