Here is the original Tyler revolver grip adapter. This is Tyler’s 20A#4, to fit any Smith & Wesson Revolver with an N frame in conjunction with traditional small Magna type service grip panels. It does not matter whether the revolver is round butt or square butt. This adapter will not fit over rubber grips because it anchors to the grip frame front strap, and rubber covers that area. Manufacturer and warrantor is Tyler Manufacturing of Oklahoma. Construction is one piece polished aluminum alloy, with copper alloy retaining clip and steel clip ring. Finish is mirror polished. This grip adapter became a classic in the 1960s ad 1970s distributed from Mr. Melvin Tyler in Oklahoma City. Smith & Wesson numbered models include 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 57, 58, 627, 629, 657, 325, 329. Smith & Wesson named Models include 38/.44 Outdoorman, Highway Patrolman, and US Army Model of 1917. It will fit 6 Shot Spanish made Astra and Llama swing out double action revolvers chambered in .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum, or .45 Colt only, no other Astras or Llamas. It will not fit any other revolvers that we know of. It will not fit a Smith & Wesson Revolver with a J frame, with a K frame, or with an L frame. Only a few N Frame revolvers were ever made with a K size grip frame. This Tyler T provides support for the shooter’s middle and ring fingers, with enough space for the pinky to rest on the grip frame front strap for most shooters. Its purpose is a better feel, but they also allow a much smaller grip circumference than Rubber or Combat grips, and it helps reduce muzzle flip with magnum loads. This grip adapter, with the above listed requirements, is relatively easy to install. All a person needs to do is loosen their revolver’s grip panels’ screw just enough for the copper tabs to fit around the grip frame’s front strap, slide it into place and then retighten the grip screw.
