Description:
Inland M1 .30 carbine, serial number 55132xx, manufactured 1944. This carbine is in very good used condition. It has a Vietnam era replacement barrel in like new condition Stock is Inland. Other marked parts are mixed manufacturers, all are detailed below and shown in pictures.
Metal parts have no pitting and very little finish wear. This carbine does have a faint import mark on the receiver, see details below. We rarely offer carbines with import marks, as they diminish any collector value, but this carbine is in overall excellent condition, and it is being offered as a great shooter rather than a collector piece.
We test fired the carbine and got exceptional results. We usually don’t test them at 100 yards, but this one performed great at that distance. You can watch a video of our test firing at our YouTube channel FernwoodArmoryTV.
Part Details:
Receiver: Jan 1944 – Aug 1944. Has been refinished, although lettering and serial are sharp. No pitting, has very small and faint import mark “FEDERAL ORDNANCE INC. SO. EL MONTE CA.” on the left side, below wood line. This marking is so light we might have missed it if we didn’t always check. This receiver is in excellent condition, unlike some that have been commercially imported.
Barrel: Herlo, marked “8448416 HC 4-72 LOT (6? 3? – not sure)” on bottom flat. New condition, bore, riflings and crown perfect. A small percentage of these barrels are known to be defective, but this one made such a small group at our usual carbine distance that we decided to try it at 100 yards – see video for result.
