This is a fantastic find! 10 rolls of Maynard tape primers along with the original tin container to go with them! All 10 primer rolls are in excellent condition in their original paper wrappers. The tin is in VG+ condition with lid included and most of the original japanned finish remaining. Invented by Dr. Edward Maynard and patented in 1845, the Maynard Tape Primer System was adopted by the U.S. Army for the Springfield Model 1855 rifle-musket, which was used by both Union and Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Overall, this is a fine example of these scarce Maynard tins with all 10 of the original rolls of tape primers intact.
