I bought this gun brand new when they were made about 25 years ago. I am currently "thinning the herd" and this one has to go on the block. It has a BSA "Radiant" illuminated reticle scope (3-9X/40) mounted. It also has a fold-down open sight for use without a scope. The butt was shortened to fit me, but I include a rubber recoil pad. Length of pull without the pad is 13", with it, 14". The hollow synthetic stock will store small tools and extra choke tubes. The shotgun barrel takes tubes with the same thread as Savage and Mossberg guns, a FULL tube is in place. The condition is excellent: both rifle and shot barrels are bright and shiny, the action is solid and locks up perfectly with no play whatever. A selector lever on the hammer allows you to choose the barrel you prefer. I killed my first Virginia deer using this Model 24, and it's also good for small game. In fact the .30-30/12 mix is suitable for any game in North America. I would undertake to walk across Alaska carrying this gun! The famous Model 24s are outstanding "all around" guns for home, camp, or cabin: alas they are no longer made and this chambering is one of the least common ever produced.
