This little carbine has a round 18” barrel with full length magazine tube. The bore is pitted from the use of black powder cartridges, no rust is present and still looks relatively shiny to the naked eye. At some point in the past the barrel had been shortened from the factory length of 20” and the front & rear sights had been replaced, the receiver has also been drilled & tapped. The blueing on this unit does show wear from use and there is some light pitting on the receiver and lever. The wood stocks show wear but are also in good condition. A lanyard ring is attached to the left side of the receiver. This vintage rifle will make a nice shooter for the .44-40 fans out there.
