Only 251 rifles were made and distributed exclusively by Davidson’s, a well-know firearm distributor. This is rifle number 70. Except for Winchester’s name, the rifle is identical in every way to the sought after and very hard to find Browning Creedmoor. It is an “out-of-the-box” rifle ready for silhouette and long-range Creedmoor competition. Designed for longer range shooting in adverse wind conditions, it’s chambered for the powerful .45-90 Winchester cartridge and features a ½ octagon ½ round 34” Badger barrel. The rifling twist rate is 1 in 18. It will also fire the .45-70 Gov. cartridge. The rear sight is a “vernier soule-style” windage-adjustable design with three interchangeable eyecups with apertures (hole) sizes of 0.052”, 0.064”, and 0.073”, two 10-32 mounting screws and instruction manual. The front sight is a windage-adjustable, hooded, globe-type, spirit-level design, and comes with 8 interchangeable front sight inserts. The front top of the receiver and rear of the barrel are drilled and tapped to install scope bases if desired. The rifle weighs 12 lbs 4 oz with the sights and an eyecup installed. The rifle and sights will be shipped in the original factory box with the rifle owner’s manual, sight instruction manual and a Certificate of Authenticity from Winchester indicating it is a “limited Series Rifle”.
