British New Land Pattern Military Flintlock Pistol of 1830 Guns > Pistols > Antique (Pre-1899) Pistols - Ctg. Misc.
Description: This Exceptional piece is one of the last flintlock pistols used by the British Military prior to the introduction of the percussion system, it dates from the William IV period (1830-1836). Barrel is 9 inches, the lock is marked with a crown over W-R. Construction is walnut with brass and steel fittings and a captive ramrod. As a late flintlock this demostrates several later features including a hammer safety bolt that engages in the "half cock" position and a waterproof powder pan having rain channels either side to keep the powder dry. Condition of this pistol is Excellent - a wonderful and handsome piece of military history.
