The country of Albania was a Russian Cold War ally. Eventually Albania rejected the Russian brand of Communism as not being politically pure enough and turned to Red China. Red China responded by giving financial aid and weapons to Albania. This early production Chinese SKS manufacted in Factory 26 was given to Albania. The serial number of this Chinese Factory 26 is in the two million range giving it a manufacture date of 1958. Rifle has all matching stamped serial numbers on the receiver, bolt, bolt carrier and receiver cover. The trigger guard is a mismatch. Bore is in excellent shape: bright with sharp lands. Metal and stock are rated in good condition. Rifle was probably issued at some point in time to Albanian militia forces. Rifle appears to have been carried a lot but fired little. The age of the rifle qualifies it to be a Curio & Relic and may be purchased on a C&R ffl. Rifle is collectable since early production Factory 26 rifles are hard to come by. Factory 26 rifles manufactured during this time period are more Russian than Chinese parts since the Russians give the Chinese all Russian SKS tooling and spare parts in the mid-fifties. It would also make a good shooter. Credit card buyers please e-mail before purchase to obtain credit card details. Many additional pictures on request.
