Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT, and Eagle Pass, TX. Model is 500 All Purpose. Type is pump or slide action shotgun. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, double slide bars, bolt, trigger and internal parts all built into an alloy receiver, with weather resistant, recoil absorbing black synthetic stock and forend. Barrel lug is drilled for a QD sling stud, and stock has a QD swivel eyelet. Finish is weather resistant matte black metal and black polymer. Trigger group housing is polymer, with .292 smooth faced steel trigger. Safety is top tang polymer button. Barrel is 28 inch smooth bore, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch interchangeably, with 16 ports for reduced felt recoil. It is drilled for Accu-Choke; furnished tube measures .715 vicinity Improved Cylinder: steel shot, slug, and buckshot compatible. Accu-choke tubes are commonly available throughout the country. Sight system is 12 post serrated top Ventilated Rib with brass center bead and ivory colored front bead sigh for a figure 8 sight picture. All Mossberg 500 12 gauges are 4 position drilled for a Weaver 88, or 417, or similar base or rail. Magazine holds 5 rounds of 2 3/4, or 4 round of 3 inch, shells.
