These Dragoon rifles were slightly shorter than the M91, but identical in length to the later day produced M91/30. To be considered a Dragoon era rifle the weapon will be dated prior to 1933. The Izhevsk arsenal started putting the arrow in triangle marking on Dragoon rifles in 1928 and dropped the more elaborate receiver inspection markings. Dragoons from this era have a hex receiver. In the early 1930's as production of the M91/30 began the Dragoons were up dated to M91/30 standards. This Dragoon era rifle was produced at the Izhevsk arsenal in 1931 with the standard hex receiver. It was later arsenal updated to 91/30 standards. Such updated rifles are commonly called Ex-Dragoons. Rifle has an excellent/unissued condition stock. Bore has shine with good lands and no counter bore. Metal blue 98+%. Rifle has the number One in a Triangle on the upper right barrel shank. This stamp may be an East German property mark according to Mosinnagant.net. Comes with original Russian: bayonet, sling, ammo pouch, oiler, tool kit and original importer shipping box matched to the rifle. This 91/30 was purchased by a collector around 2001. Rifle was then put away unopened in its sealed box. Rifle has a discreet import mark on the front section of the barrel. This rifle would be an outstanding addition to any collection or an excellent shooter. Can be sold on a Curio&Relic ffl. Credit cards 3.5%.
