Offered for your consideration is this fine, classic Winchester model 55 Take Down rifle. Made in 1929, it has a 24 inch barrel with sharp, excellent bore and rifling. The take down feature locks up tight with no slop or excessive wear. The magazine holds four rounds plus one in the chamber. The action cycles very smoothly, feeds, chambers and ejects as it should. A Lyman 66A receiver sight with hunting aperture is mounted as shown in the photos. This gives you an extra 7 inches of sight radius for better accuracy and great for low light shooting. The stock and forearm are of black walnut with nice grain and retain most of the original factory finish. The wood stands proud above the metal and has not been refinished. It is equipped with quick detachable sling bases. The rifle has light use and carry wear from hunting as you can see in the photos. The barrel and magazine retain 90% blue. The receiver has silvered out, typical of receivers of this era due to the bluing process Winchester used at that time. It has been used, but not abused. 3 day inspection. Deer season will be here soon - be ready to hunt with this fine Winchester!
