Manufacturer was New England Firearms, of Gardner, MA, an interim corporation in the Harrington & Richardson Family. From its NB serial number prefix, this .22 was made in 1987. Construction is entirely steel metal, with hardwood grip panels. Type is traditional double and single action swing out cylinder revolver. Barrel is 2 1/2 inch heavy, .720 outside diameter with recessed muzzle, pinned into place in the receiver. Bore is 8 groove right hand 1:16. Sights are sweated blade front, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Hammer is .300 serrated spur, with .312 smooth faced trigger. Chambering is .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle interchangeably, with a cylinder capacity of 9 rounds. Safety system is transfer bar, floating firing pin that prevents the hammer face from contacting the pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Double action trigger pull is 15 pound vicinity, with a single action pull that gauges at a relatively crisp 5 3/4 pounds and minimal felt creep. On double action, hammer travels an impressive 15 to 20 degrees on all 9 positions after the cylinder times into place; 30 degrees on all 9 on a slow single action pull. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal with the trigger relaxed; with it fully depressed, however, there is no lateral play whatsoever. Weight empty is 25 3/4 ounces, with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Finish is matte blue steel, with chrome plated hammer. Surface detractions are moderate, principally occasional finish freckling and edge wear on the cylinder, and surface wear to the grip panels. We rate this R92 as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright and clean. From the faint amounts of whitening to the frame’s firing pin face area, we estimate this revolver has been fired fewer than 200 times, no rounds at all for an H&R.
