Description: Ranger Arms, Gainesville, TX - 7mm Remington Magnum - Governors Grade

The stock is deluxe grade English or Claro Walnut, hand rubbed to a high polish. The checkering is full coverage, hand cut in a skip-line pattern.

The 24” barrel is of premium grade with a deluxe polish and blue-black finish.

The action was designed by Homer Koons (famous gun-smith, see Omega rifles). The action is hand honed and lapped, with a jeweled and chromed bolt body for smooth operation. The bolt handle knob is knurled.

This rifle has a heavy recoil pad, sling swivel studs, removable floor plate 3 round magazine, cross-bolt safety, Rosewood tip and cap with Maple spacer, Poly-vinyl Epoxy finish. It is topped with Redfield bases and a Leupold Variable 3x9 AO scope. A sterling silver name plate with 18k gold plated ribbons and scroll is attached to the end of the pistol grip. The name "Bruno" is engraved on the scroll. You should be able to buff out “Bruno” and have your name engraved in its place.

The rifle weighs 8.25 pounds. The weight with the scope, rings and bases is approximately 10 pounds. It is in very good to excellent condition (see NRA rating system below). Ranger Arms manufactured 3 different grades of rifles: 1) Statesman Grade - Entry level low end wood no jeweled bolt and no knurled end on the bolt; 2) Senators grade - Jeweled bolt mid-grade wood no knurling on the bolt. 3) Governors grade - This was the high end, top of the line 5A wood with a jeweled & knurled bolt.

The serial number is 3312.

Ranger Arms manufactured rifles from 1968 – 1978. Approximately 4,000 rifles were made during that time period. They were essentially a custom hunting rifle manufacturer. These rifles are highly valued by knowledgeable collectors for their high quality of craftsmanship, accuracy, and the classic control-feed bolt action, which uses three locking lugs, and has a 60 degree throw. The action was designed by Homer Koon, who held several firearm patents.

Here are the NRA grades given for modern firearms: • New – A gun given a grade of "new" looks just as it did when it left the factory and has never been sold at a retail store. • Perfect – A “perfect” gun is literally as good as new, although it may have been sold in a retail store. • Excellent-- An “excellent” rating means the gun appears to be in perfect condition but may have had minor use. • Very Good – A “very good” firearm is perfect mechanically but may have minor cosmetic blemishes. • Good--A rating of “good” indicates that the gun is in proper working condition but may show signs of wear. • Fair – A “fair” firearm is also in safe working condition but may require some minor maintenance.
