Serial number E561XXX indicates 1913 yeara of manufacture. Gun has a "Super Poly Choke". This gun would be a good collector or shooter. Cowboys would love to cut this one down. Solid frame 97's are lighter than the take-down models. Pistol grip stock and corn cob forearm look great for their age with no cracks. Butt plate is original and has no cracks. The receiver shows some minor pitting; but would not impair gun from being a great shooter, either in the field or at a cowboy shoot.
