(Sporting Carbine) lever action rifle chambered in .32 Special caliber. This is a FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION gun manufactured in 1948 (“E” Serial). Gun remains in very good, collectible condition with light overall wear. 20” barrel remains in very good condition with very light scattered wear. Bore is bright with excellent rifling (I believe it is “Standard”). “JM” mark is on the right side near breech. Barrel is fitted with a hooded front sight and adjustable rear buckhorn sight. “Waffle Top” receiver is very good with scattered wear; Light blue loss on bottom edge. Lever action works flawlessly. Gun stocks are very good. Shoulder stock has some wear on bottom “heel”; small closed crack that appears only to be a surface blemish and does not go through the stock. Comb has been fitted with a compass. Fore-end piece is excellent.
