This rifle is an original 1903 rifle, serial number 994578, that was arsenal reworked for WWII, and has a Springfield barrel dated 8/44. Gun is in very good condition with original military stock/configuration, Parkerized finish, steel buttplate, and 24" barrel with original 1903 style sights. The floorplate latch appears to have been secured with a custom option from the Home Depot Arsenal, as there is a Phillip's head deck screw holding the floorplate in place. That is clearly not mil-spec. Regardless, the rifle is a very clean example of a WWII arsenal rework. Serial number of the rifle is in the safe range for heat treatment of the 1903 actions.
