Description: This listing is for the exact shotgun in the photos. Here is an Italian made Breda Altair Lusso shotgun in 12 gauge 3 inch Magnum, but with full fixed choke that is NOT designed for steel shot or rifled slugs. Manufacturer was Pietro Beretta s.p.a. of Gardone, Italy. Barrel marking is from Breda Meccanica Bresciana S.p.A. of Milan, Italy, a Beretta contract vendor. We think of Breda as somewhat like the Talo Distributors of Italy, so this is a Breda marked special edition of an otherwise Beretta shotgun. This shotgun was never in the United States until recently. It served light sporting duty in Croatia, not far from its native land. From its BA date code, it was manufactured in 1991. Importer mark is underneath the barrel's forward area. Type is gas operated semi automatic shotgun. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, gas piston, bolt, carrier, levers, and internal parts assembled into an alloy receiver and trigger housing. Buttstock and forend are Italian Walnut. Barrel is 31 3/4 inches from muzzle to mouth, nominally 32 inch, with chrome lined smooth bore, chambered for 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch heavy load lead or bismuth shells only. Muzzle is .671 Full Choke, Super Full according to US Standards. Sight system is 8 post, .388 serrated top wide Ventilated Rib that sits .24 inch above the barrel at midsection. Front sight is steel protected white bead, with serrated receiver top that mates to the rib. 8 1/2 inch magazine tube holds 3 total 2 3/4 inch shells, so 3 + 1 capacity on 2 3/4 inch; or 3 + 2 with ghost shell sitting on the carrier. 3 inch Magnum capacity is 2 + 1. This shotgun is 301/302/303/B80 action, not capable of receiving a magazine tube extension. Note the magazine cutoff in the forend center, that allows chamber unloading with other shells staying in the chamber. Bolt is chrome plated, with bolt release button right side. Shell carrier release button is behind that part. Safety is gunsmith reversible, forward of the trigger guard, for right handed shooters. Trigger is .290 smooth faced, pulls single stage at 4 3/4 pounds with moderate felt creep and minimal overtravel. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch factory recoil pad. Drop is 1 3/8 by 2 3/8 with a full 1 inch right hand cast. Overall length is 51 3/4 inches. Weight empty is 7 pounds 9 ounces, centered at the breech face. Finish is polished surface blued barrel, with gloss black anodized receiver and guard that have machine engraved white lateral waterfowl scenes. Receiver verticals are matte finish, hence the receiver date code is illegible. Trigger and safety are gold plated. Stock and forend are semi gloss walnut; Please note the sling swivels in the buttstock and forend. Surface detractions on this Breda are moderate, principally scouring on the buttstock and lizarding of the recoil pad. We rate this shotgun asVery Good Condition, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. From the absence of any significant wear to the shell carrier, we estimate this Beretta was fired fewer than 500 times in action against upland birds by guests of a major Croatian Arms Manufacturer. Replacement pricing for its nearest Beretta successor, the A400 XCEL, is $1979.00 on beretta com. We're offering the 1991 Beretta A303 in the photos, however for only $ 539.00.
