The gun has all the features of the National Match rifles. It has the proper inspection cartouches for the 1936 period. The bolt is polished bright which Canfield states is correct for some of the converted sniper rifles. The scope is in the correct serial number range and is bright and clear with it's original Micarta Carrying Case. The stock has a varnish type finish. According to Canfield this is correct for some sniper rifles as it provided waterproofing. This information and much more can be found in Canfield's book An illustrated Guide to the 03 Springfield Service Rife beginning on page 153.
