This sale is for a Winchester Model 88, from this models first year of production 1955. Very Low SN# 15XXX. A real early 88. Metal is in overall fantastic shape, no scratches or rust, and only very slight blue wear at the muzzle. Excellent bore. Front blade sights, rear folding sights. Has a Lyman All-American 4X Scope Mounted and that is included in the sale. Lever action functions smoothly. The stock is in good shape, with nice walnut, pistol grip and checkering on the neck and forend. However there is a hairline crack, on the lower right hand side of the stock. There is no rattle or shake, and it does not go through the stock, it runs from the butt, to the sling swivel. This will not deter performance, however we call every blemish out so theres no suprise upon delivery. Please see all pictures to get a good idea of the condition of this rifle.
Later models in similar condition are asking $1,000-$1,200. You cant find a first year model like this anywhere. The price is right at $999.00 Thanks for looking!
