LongTom Guns > Shotguns > L Misc Shotguns
Description: This LongTom 16 gauge shotgun has a 36 1/4" barrel, and is 51" overall. It has the words "LongTom" in script on the left hand side, and just above the script is printed "choke bored" on the left hand side of the barrel. Above that, top dead center on the barrel are the words "genuine armory steel". It has a checked stock that is still in relatively good condition, and the steel has a patina that is all it's own. If I'm correct, then this gun was made for Sears and Roebuck by the Crescent Firearms Company. They made guns for Sears from the 1800's until about 1920, so she ain't young! The barrel breaks open for loading and unloading.

This shotgun is in working condition, and it will really reach out there and touch something.

The history as I know it is as follows. Fresh out of the Korean War, my Dad was working in an orchard in Central Valley, California. After a year or so, my Dad decided to take up logging up north, and the woman who owned the orchard made a gift of it to my Dad. The tape on the stock was put there by (and I'm guessing at this) the woman who owned the orchard. The tape has never been removed or altered in any way. My Dad tells me that the tape was already there when he went to work in the orchard.

It's still a fine shotgun, although with the length of the barrel being so extreme, it's a little odd to fire. It probably needs a good cleaning, but everything still works, and it's still as deadly now as it was when it was first manufactured.
